Thanks to all of the volunteers that attended the training meeting Wednesday. We had a good turnout. Dr. Macrae gave a brief introduction and story about a recent “country day moment” that meant a lot to him and helped all of us understand why the Annual Fund is so important. Nick did an excellent job of walking through the approach this year. You can find a link to the Volunteer Handbook on this page.
Cards were selected by the captains. They will start making calls to for a pledge but also to participate in a community get together and calling night to other parents by division. Dates on on the right of this blog in the schedule document. This is a different approach than what we have taken in the past that makes the annual fund more of a community effort rather than an individual volunteer effort. Its another way to bring the school together and have some fun while we are raising money for the school.
We had a good discussion recognizing the importance of being sensitive to how we ask fellow parents particularily in this environment. Our message should emphasize the importance of the annual fund to every child at CCDS, so it is important to participate at whatever level a parent can, but that we also have to respect “no’s” as a No.
